Only one month to the Pink Loerie Reunion
The annual Pink Loerie Festival is taking place from 23 to 27 April this year. The foundation’s John O’Neil said “The Reunion” is scheduled to “dust the Garden Route Town in glitter” at the end of April.
He said all necessary COVID-19 prevention protocols will be adhered to. “We look forward to letting our hair down with the locals in April. The pandemic and everything surrounding it has affected us all, and many of us are still facing challenges that will take a long while to overcome. This reunion will give all of us a chance to just have fun. Not to mention the economic potential it holds for Knysna and the many local charities that benefit from it.”
The Knysna Pink Loerie festival was started in 2000 by local businessmen to attract tourists to Knysna during the traditionally slow month of May, to reinvigorate the local economy. Always finding ways to give back to the community, their efforts were recognised when the Pink Loerie Foundation received the Community Outreach Award during the Annual 92.2 FM Eastwave Radio Nelson Mandela International Day Community Leadership Awards.
