Marius started his career in the hospitality industry in 1993. His yearning to become a factor in the industry, lead to a national diploma in hotel management at the Witwatersrand Hotel School. In 1998 was appointed resident manager at the first small luxury hotel in South Africa and subsequently became operations manager at a leading hotel in Mozambique, Indigo Bay.

Consequently, in 2001 he joined Hunter Hotels in his favourite region, the Garden Route. He was promoted to General Manager and gained a huge amount of organizational experience. In 2004, he was given the opportunity to head up another five-star luxury establishment within the group.
